University Advancement - Giving to MSU Denver
Corporate & Foundation Relations
On behalf of the University, the Corporate & Foundation Relations Team in coordination with OSRP and an interdisciplinary committee has been tracking and applying for emergency funding opportunities that have become available from public and private entities.
In the new reality of the Coronavirus outbreak, the MSU Denver community is facing increased financial, personal, and academic struggles. The team has been and will continue to apply for funding to support the Student Emergency Fund, the Health Center at Auraria, the Roadrunner Food Pantry, as well as other unexpected needs that may arise.
If you are aware of emergency funding opportunities, please share the information with the team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will review the opportunities and submit proposals as appropriate.
Welcome, distinguished MSU Denver faculty and staff! We are excited to partner with you as you seek external resources to support your excellent and impactful work here at MSU Denver and in the community. Please review the following information carefully. If you have questions, would like to work with one of our Centrally Managed partners, and/or are seeking support in excess of $15,000, please reach out to someone on the Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) Team.
This website and Grant Toolkit are meant to guide you through the process of seeking foundation or corporate foundation support for your work. In many cases, we encourage you to contact a foundation directly to determine if your project aligns with its mission and strategy and to learn more about the process for requesting support.
The entire grant process – from initial contact to final decision by a foundation’s board of directors – takes six months to a year, on average. You are best advised to start the process very well in advance of the time the funding will be needed.
Centrally Managed Corporations and Foundations
There are a handful of centrally managed corporations and foundations that should only be approached for funding through or with clearance from the CFR Team at the request of either the funder’s leadership or the University’s. These are organizations that expect funding discussions to center on institutional priorities and that, in most cases, have explicitly asked that funding requests carry the endorsement of the President and be conveyed through the Advancement office.
If you wish to seek funding from an organization on this list, please contact the CFR Team.
Are you seeking less than $15,000 for a program/project?
If you are seeking $15,000 or less in funding from a source that is not centrally managed, we encourage you to use the Grant Toolkit for support. The CFR Team is available to answer any questions and to review and submit your proposal.
