The Gender Institute for Teaching and Advocacy - GWS Department
The Bridge Speaker event is the annual tradition of an influential African-American woman being invited to speak on social issues and educational topics and here at MSU Denver. The Bridge Speaker is a dedicated African-American Woman who speaks about her work and impact on our society and thereby to symbolize the bridge between Black History Month in February and Women’s History Month in March. Now in its 30th year, this long-standing tradition serves as a forum to educate our campus on the experiences and contributions of African-American women. It also addresses diversity initiatives like fostering social awareness, academic enrichment, and increasing multi-cultural campus competencies.
Thank you to everyone who attended the 2020 Bridge Speaker event!
