Major Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance Program Requirements
All candidates for a bachelor of science degree in accounting, computer information systems, finance, management and marketing must satisfy the General Studies requirements, the business core course requirements, and the College of Business requirements described in the following four sections. For business programs leading to a bachelor of science degree, the basic structure of each program is:

* Elective Requirements
Elective credits vary. Total electives must be sufficient for students to meet the MSU Denver minimum required 120 credit hours.
To earn a Bachelor's degree in business, a student must successfully complete 30 or more credit hours of business course work at MSU Denver. This 30-hour residency requirement can be met by completing any business courses with the prefix ACC, CIS, FIN, MGT and MKT except ACC 1010, CIS 1010, CIS 2300, CIS 3300, CIS 3320, CIS 3340, and FIN 2250. A student must complete at least eight (8) upper-division semester hours in the major at MSU Denver.
Students majoring in finance and interested in pursuing an International Business concentration should see an advisor specifically for that concentration.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance
Each Finance major must pursue a concentration depending on their interest within the Finance area. These concentrations are:

*Upper-division finance electives (three must be 4000-level) selected in consultation with and approved by the Finance Department.
**A minimum grade of "C" is required for courses in the major.
Students must select three (3) finance elective courses in consultation with their Finance Department Advisor. Students should consult with their department advisor regarding the possibility of selecting three (3) business courses among the 20 credit hours of general electives.
