We offer an elementary teacher licensure program at the undergraduate level for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.  Your previous degree does not have to be in any specific area of study; you will complete all of the necessary coursework for your elementary education license here at MSU Denver. Upon successful completion of your teacher licensure program, you will receive a recommendation to the Colorado Department of Education for licensure in the completed content area.

Similar to the post-baccalaureate path, this program is an option for candidates who have completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and who wish to earn their teaching license in elementary education.  In addition, candidates who complete this program will also earn a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree.  Make sure to meet with an advisor to better understand the process of applying to the university and being accepted to the MAT program.  Visit the following link for more information on the MAT program.

We offer a minor in Elementary Education.  This minor serves individuals who are interested in working with elementary aged children (ages 5-12) outside the K-6 classroom (for example, recreation fields, summer camps, travel programs, after-school enrichment programs, day care). The Elementary Education Minor does not meet licensure requirements. Please see an advisor to plan your minor in advance.
