LICENSURE EXAMS
Please note - exam requirements have changed at the state level:
-
The Colorado State Board of Education voted unanimously, at their June 2016 State Board of Education meeting, to adopt the Praxis exam series for Colorado's endorsement areas.
-
The newly adopted Praxis exams will be available to be taken in Colorado after September 1, 2016.
-
For all students who met the old exam requirement by completing the PLACE exam, your test results will be valid until May 6th, 2022.
All teacher licensure candidates at MSU Denver must meet program-specific exam requirements before they can apply for student teaching/residency. Passing scores on the required licensure exams are required for teacher candidates to earn their recommendation and apply for their teaching license through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). Please be aware that some licensure areas require multiple exams. For more information on the exams required by CDE, please visit the Colorado Praxis website.
Praxis offers the following accommodations and general preparation materials. Preparation materials specific to the individual exams can be found in the expandable sections below.
- Test takers whose primary language is not English
- Test takers with disabilities or health-related needs
- Test Preparation Webinars
