PeopleAdmin, the applicant-tracking system that the Metropolitan State University of Denver Human Resources Department uses to facilitate recruiting and hiring needs, will begin phasing out in this month to prepare for the Workday launch.

In January, all new job postings — which in Workday will be called job requisitions — will be managed in the new system.

Hiring managers are encouraged to coordinate with their designated senior HR partner to assess which job requisitions are business-critical for continuous operations between now and the end of the year and which can be held until 2023.

A two-pronged approach/timeline has been created to best support hiring needs as the University transitions to Workday.

Administrative, hourly and student employees

  • October
    • Job requisitions for salaried and hourly administrative positions, including student-employee positions, will need to be posted between now and Oct. 31 to be processed prior to moving to Workday.
    • These job requisitions will continue to be managed through PeopleAdmin.
    • Managers should continue to use the same process to submit a job requisition between now and Oct. 31.
  • November
    • The HR Recruiting Team will work to process job requisitions that were submitted prior to Oct. 31 and attempt to close as many as possible.
  • December
    • Beginning Dec. 1, the University will engage in a “quiet posting” period for administrative, hourly and student-employee positions to limit job-posting activity as the HR Recruiting Team works to transition to Workday.

Faculty and affiliate faculty

  • October-December
    • Any faculty and affiliate-faculty job requisitions that are posted between now and Dec. 23 will continue to be managed through PeopleAdmin.
    • Academic departments should continue to use the same process to submit a job requisition between now and Dec. 23.
  • December
    • Beginning Dec. 24, the University will engage in a “quiet posting” period for faculty and affiliate/associate-faculty positions as the HR Recruiting Team works through the transition to Workday.

Please note: Information about New Employee Orientation sessions for early 2023 will be coming soon.

Workday benefits

In Workday, the hiring process will be quicker and more streamlined for everyone. Here are some of the benefits employees can look forward to:

  • Real-time visibility into the hiring process and job-requisition flow.
  • A smooth experience from start to finish for recruiters, hiring managers and candidates.
  • Faster posting directly into the system easily and from any device.
  • Quicker approvals because of automated workflow.
  • Online candidate screening.
  • Candidate referrals and recommendations housed in one place and managed completely online.
  • Digital forms enabling “paperwork” to be completed solely online — no more paper forms.
  • E-signatures allowing candidates to easily access forms and sign with an electronic signature.
