Microsoft has announced it will transition to a new version of Microsoft Stream that is fully integrated with Office 365 in May. As a part of this process, Stream (Classic) will be retired and replaced by Stream (On SharePoint).

Microsoft Stream is one of many apps available to Metropolitan State University of Denver students, faculty members and staff members through Office 365. As a video-sharing service, it allows users to upload, view and share videos; create screen recordings; manage playlists; and more. Stream (On SharePoint) maintains these functions while having the benefit of seamless integration with the Office 365 content environment.

All published MSU Denver content in Stream will automatically be migrated to the new version with no action required from MSU Denver users. However, videos and drafts that have not yet been published will not be migrated, so anyone with unpublished content who wants it moved to Stream (On SharePoint) should publish it before the migration date.

The existing link to Stream in Office 365 has already been updated to direct people to use the new service. Anyone who still needs to use the old app can access Stream (Classic) using a link on the front page of the app.

Stream (Classic) will no longer be available in the MSU Denver Office 365 environment beginning Monday, May 29. Additionally, Stream (Classic) will no longer accept new video uploads beginning Saturday, May 20, while content is being migrated. Please note that these dates may be subject to change.
