Registration training

Learn how to successfully guide students through the registration process. To promote student success after MSU Denver’s self-service registration update last October, all faculty members are encouraged to review the Student Registration Guide and attend one of the registration trainings from March 29-April 7.

Building a consciousness: environmental justice and racism

In the latest series event, the Dialogues Program will host a Zoom discussion to expand awareness of the environment and deconstruct outdated concepts that drive mainstream understandings. Specifically, the dialogue will guide participants to consider disproportionate experiences of the environment and impacts from environmental hazards for people of color, then explore environmental justice or ways in which people experience equitable access to live, work and play.  

Community Risk Reduction event

Engage with Community Risk Reduction agencies to learn about keeping our community safe and while you’re at it, enjoy a variety of food-truck options. The Auraria Higher Education Center is partnering with the Division of Fire Prevention and Control to educate and inform community decision-makers about the Community Risk Reduction process. Event trainings include fire-extinguisher use, car-seat installation, prevention of carbon-monoxide poisoning and smoke-alarm safety.    

CTLD book discussion

Learn about Jon Feldman’s book “Grading for Equity” and explore its implications for teaching in a discussion hosted by the Center for Teaching, Learning and Design. Participants can join virtually or in person to discuss issues addressed in the book such as the impact of grades on motivation, common but mathematically inaccurate practices, arguments against grading participation or practice work and more.  

A dialogue: self-care and social justice

Spring Fling

The Auraria Campus invites students, faculty members and staff members to help promote its vibrant higher education community at a two-day tri-institutional Spring Fling. Booths consisting of one table and two chairs will be provided for those interested in informing potential future students about MSU Denver and all it has to offer. There is no cost to participate, although registration is required, and booths will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is open now and will close April 13. Reminders

King Center electricity outage

Monday-Wednesday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

The King Center will be closed to the public Monday through Wednesday as part of a planned electricity outage due to the Deferred Maintenance project to switch the center from secondary (Xcel-owned) to primary power (owned by the Auraria Higher Education Center).   

Public-safety survey

Share insights on how to foster a more inclusive campus safety program in the AHEC public-safety survey. The results will influence a campus safety program in the making thanks to an AHEC partnership with MSU Denver, Community College of Denver and the University of Colorado Denver. All responses will remain anonymous and help to build a more inclusive and secure learning environment for all campus community members.
