The Rowdy Scholar Editorial Board is gearing up for the publication of the fifth annual issue of Metropolitan State University of Denver’s interdisciplinary journal of undergraduate research and creative work.

Students and recent graduates who submit work to the Rowdy Scholar undergo a rigorous process of review and revision that involves faculty mentors, anonymous faculty reviewers and editors. The final product represents the best of undergraduate research at MSU Denver: original analysis, sophisticated methodologies and polished writing across disciplines.

Faculty: Are you mentoring students who are doing original research or significant creative work? This might include Senior Experience projects or outstanding work in labs, libraries, studios or the field.

Do you have students who are thinking about graduate school and who might benefit from showing off a publication in a reviewed journal? If so, please consider sharing information about The Rowdy Scholar.

Forward this information to interested students:

Students are required to submit work with the support of a faculty mentor who can attest that the submissions meet disciplinary standards and expectations for academic integrity. Submissions are due Feb. 17. Students and recent graduates are eligible to contribute. Find more information about submission guidelines and past issues.

How faculty members can get involved

The Rowdy Scholar Editorial Board also welcomes faculty participation from across disciplines. Responsibilities include reviewing student submissions. Interested faculty members should contact Shelby Balik, Ph.D., or John Rief, Ph.D., senior editors.
