MSU Denver presents a Dios de los Muertos celabration at St. Cajetan's church with face painting, sugar skull painting, dancing, and personal alters

Metropolitan State University of Denver hosted its annual Dia de los Muertos celebration Tuesday, an event that has been a part of the University’s campus for over a decade. The event, the first of which was in 2010, is hosted by the Sigma Lambda Beta fraternity and MSU Denver’s Journey Through Our Heritage program in the Chicana/o Studies Department.
Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) honors relatives and other loved ones who have passed away and provides students and the campus community with a way to come together and celebrate culture and family lineage. Tuesday’s celebrations at St. Cajetan’s Event Center included sharing history, activities, performances, Greek strolls and a showing of “The Book of Life,” a movie based on the Day of the Dead.
