The Center for Teaching, Learning and Design and the Office of Faculty Affairs are committed to helping faculty members through review for tenure or promotion. This fall, the offices will host virtual workshops on preparing portfolios and narratives necessary for tenure and promotion reviews.
Promotion Portfolio Workshops
Lisa Altemueller, Ph.D., associate dean, School of Education; Ibon Izurieta, Ph.D., associate dean, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences; and Meredith Flynn, Ph.D., associate director of teaching and learning for the CTLD, will host two Promotion Portfolio Workshops. The sessions will cover portfolio requirements, and attendees will hear from a portfolio reviewer and a faculty member who has recently been through the promotion process. The workshops also include information on developing a portfolio in Digital Measures.
Tenure Portfolio Workshops
A.J. Alejano-Steele, Ph.D., associate dean, College of Professional Studies, together with Izurieta and Flynn, will host two Tenure Portfolio Workshops. The sessions will cover tenure-portfolio requirements, and attendees will hear from a portfolio reviewer and a faculty member who has recently been through the tenure process. The workshops also include information on developing a portfolio in Digital Measures.
Narrative Writing Workshop
Hosted by Flynn and Elizabeth Kleinfeld, Ph.D., director of the Writing Center, this workshop helps faculty members write the narrative that accompanies the Promotion and Tenure Portfolio. Participants will learn tips, strategies, hacks and best practices for writing a compelling narrative.
Upon registering for a workshop, you will receive a confirmation email with the link to the Teams meeting set up for that workshop. If you have any questions, contact Meredith Flynn, email@example.com.
