Overhead image of man typing on laptop, words technically speakingWindows Defender has replaced ESET as MSU Denver’s antivirus solution for Mac computers. The new software will be pushed out to MSU Denver Macs on Nov. 14. The change will be nonintrusive, so users should not receive any prompts to restart their computer or complete the installation; however, if you receive any notifications from the new software, please pay close attention to them, just as you would with the old software. Once the change is complete, users may notice the new icon (pictured here) on their computer’s menu bar at some point during the day.

If you do not have the shield icon (seen above) on your Mac’s menu bar by Nov. 15, or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 303-352-7548 or
