Veteran’s Week Events
Veteran’s Week activities kick off tomorrow and continue through Nov. 15. Check out the full list of events and celebrations by visiting the Veteran and Military Student Services webpage.
Join the Auraria Campus Police Department for the annual tri-institutional event to promote and improve campus safety. The event will begin with a discussion led by Katia Campbell, Ph.D., Faculty Senate president and associate professor of Communication Studies and Faculty, about free speech on campus. Attendees will then break into groups to walk the campus to identify safety issues such as poor lighting or necessary repairs.

Join the Auraria Library for a Solarbration
Solar-brate the installation of a new solar array atop the Auraria Library with the Auraria Sustainable Campus Program. The event will include free refreshments as well as educational information from Xcel Energy and Namaste Solar.

Women in Craft Panel
The Women in Beer Chapter at Breckenridge Brewery is hosting a panel on women in the craft-brewing industry. Discussion topics will include careers in craft, leadership, mentorship and more. Panelists include Katherine Strain, Beverage Analysis Lab Manager, MSU Denver School of Hospitality; Sara Barnett, supply-chain manager, Breckenridge Brewery; and Suzanne Nance, brewer, Breckenridge Brewery.
2-4 p.m., followed by a bottle share from 4-5 p.m.

Internationally renowned chef and award-winning author of “How to Bake Bread: The 5 Families of Bread” visits MSU Denver
Bread expert Michael Kalanty will host demonstration lectures, open to faculty and staff. Kalanty is also offering two scholarships (valued at $2,000 each) for selected MSU Denver students to attend a 3-day weekend workshop on bread doughs and pizza doughs.
Kalanty joins Chef Jackson Lamb’s Food Fundamentals class for a bread-baking session and tasting. Kalanty will also hold a book-signing.
Kalanty joins Lamb for a second session of bread-baking, tasting and book-signing.
9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Kalanty will be co-teaching with Chef Jennifer Watson’s Baking and Pastry class on the art of French baguette-making.
