In Process   |   March 6 - March 21, 2020

In celebration of Mo’ Print and the end of our renovations, CVA is hosting a three-week printmaking studio with workshops, demonstrations and an exhibition that illustrates the thought and design that goes into printmaking. We invited 20+ Denver artists to share their printmaking processes, start to finish, with an emphasis on the mistakes, trials and problem solving that artists experience within/because of/in spite of their media. The In Process exhibition features process proofs, notes, sketches and other materials to provide a visual story of the labor/love that goes into creating the final artwork.

Starting March 6 and going until March 21, we invite you to step into our studio, explore printmaking and spend some time rolling out ink and pulling prints with us!

CANCELED Just Below the Surface: Intro to One Color Linoleum Prints with Javier Flores

Have you ever wanted to learn relief printmaking? This is a great opportunity to spend four hours gathering information and then applying it to a small print edition using linoleum carved pieces to do so. In this workshop, you will learn how to translate a 8”x10” drawing into a fully realized print. This technique is akin to creating a large stamp. All abilities welcome; no prior printmaking experience necessary. All materials will be provided, just bring yourself and your ideas!

Due to precautionary measures related to COVID-19, we will be canceling this event. If you have already registered, you will be contacted via email regarding a refund for your ticket(s).

CANCELED Paste and Print: Collagraphs with Virginia Diaz Saiki

Collagraph is a printmaking technique in which we use collage to build a printable surface. In this workshop we will create fun printing plates using found materials, household items, and a bit of invention, to produce sophisticated fine art prints.

Due to precautionary measures related to COVID-19, we will be canceling this event. If you have already registered, you will be contacted via email regarding a refund for your ticket(s).

CANCELED Culture Club – Print Exchange

Culture Club is getting in on the printmaking fun by hosting a print exchange. A long-held tradition within the printmaking community, the print exchange allows artists to share their work while expanding their own print collection. We will explore a variety of printmaking techniques to create multiple versions of your own print to share with the other participants.

POSTPONED Small Press Fest

Leon Gallery and is PRESS are proud to announce the resurrection of Denver Small Press Fest, a free exploration of Denver print media. This event will celebrate zines, journals, periodicals, books and printmaking in the Center for Visual Art. The festival envisions print in a new context: incorporating art, music, literature, poetry and DIY projects – all surrounded by good friends. More than fifty vendors will be present, giving Denver a taste of what’s been hiding in the underground.

POSTPONED until July 11th
