Veterans Workshop Series:

Veterans and Resilience

Most Veterans, up to 70%, evidence resilience, but we do not always know how to use this quality in ways that work well for us.  This is a workshop designed to identify ways to bolster resilience in six domains:  interpersonal, physical, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and spiritual.

DACA Workshop Series:

Dealing with Ongoing Stress

DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students have been dealing with many challenges regarding quality of life especially with regard to employment, access to health care, and threats to traditional family values. This workshop will provide an opportunity to explore areas of stress and offer healthy coping techniques during this difficult time.

Coordinated Events:

 

**The Counseling Center is working with the LGBTQ Student Resource Center who is hosting a variety of LGBTQ+ centric events. The Counseling Center will be offering support and resources at the following events.**

 

 

Transgender Day of Resilience

The Counseling Center with be joining with the LGBTQ SRC as they “memorialize and honor those individuals who were murdered due to anti-transgender hatred and prejudice.” The Counseling Center will be there to provide local resources for the LGBTQ community and to be a support for students.

Time:           2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

 

World AIDS Day

The Counseling Center with be joining with the LGBTQ SRC as they “raise awareness of HIV and AIDS, commemorate those who have passed, and celebrate our victories in eradicating this disease.” The Counseling Center will be there to provide local resources for the LGBTQ community and to be a support for students.
