CAS 3740 Speech and Thought in a Digital Age
This general studies course critically examines the philosophical and theoretical connections of speech and thought to language, physiology, culture, and technology in a digital age. Students will develop a fundamental understanding of the theories, concepts, and themes in the study of speech as central to the formation of thought, experience, and meaning. Students will improve their own communication through increased self-awareness of communication styles and their relationship to emotional states, analysis of communication artifacts, and a deeper understanding of how technology shapes culture and communication.
