A Letter From Dr. Davidson

Dear Roadrunners,

Earlier this year, we made the difficult decision to postpone the Commencement ceremony for spring 2020 graduates until December, with the intention of coming together in person to mark this milestone moment in your academic and personal livesWe had truly hoped to be in a different place with regard to the COVID-19 crisis by this point, but due to state and city mandates imposed on large gatherings and venue restrictions, it will be impossible to conduct an in-person ceremony.

I know this is heartbreaking news for so many of you, and I share in that sadness. We do still plan to celebrate your accomplishments at a robust virtual ceremony for your spring 2020 graduating class Friday, Dec. 11. We have an amazing team doing everything in their power to re-create the Commencement experience online, and I am excited about their plans to recognize each of you. More details will be coming soon, but if you have questions or feedback, please reach out to our Commencement team at commencement@msudenver.edu.

On behalf of the entire Metropolitan State University of Denver community, I want to thank you for your continued patience and resiliency in the face of all the challenges your graduating class has endured this year. Your time as a student may have come to an end, but the tenacity that all Roadrunner alumni share will continue to carry you through whatever comes next. It will be an honor to celebrate you in December.

Sincerely,

Janine Davidson, Ph.D.

President

On behalf of the MSU Denver administration, faculty and alumni, we would like to applaud you on your graduation day! We’re so proud of your accomplishment, especially as you’ve worked through your final semester with the unprecedented COVID-19 situation. You’ve shown incredible tenacity as a Roadrunner and we anticipate you will do great things in the future. While we know this isn’t the graduation day you pictured, we hope you’ll join us for the rescheduled ceremony in December.

Share your Roadrunner story with us.
