CYBM Frequently Asked Questions
About the CYBM Program:
I do not have a background in computer science or computer information systems. Can I still apply to the program?
Yes! We have students in our program from a variety of backgrounds; having a computer science or computer information systems background is helpful, but we offer introductory classes that can help bridge the gap somewhat if you feel that you need to gain more knowledge (i.e. CSS 2751 Principles of Cybersecurity and CJC 1010 Intro to Criminal Justice).
How many credits do I need to complete the CYBM program?
Will I have to do an internship as part of the CYBM program?
Internships are optional and the credits will not count towards the required 36 credits for the CYBM program.
Is there a required minimum GPA for the CYBM program?
Yes, in order to complete the program successfully, you must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 average every semester.
How many graduate-level credits can I transfer into the CYBM program?
Students may transfer up to 6 graduate-level credits into the CYBM program upon approval by the CYBM program.
Can I do the CYBM program online?
We have in-classroom, online, and hybrid options to complete your degree. Some in-classroom classes are held in the evening.
I work full time. Can I pursue the program part time?
Yes, we have full time and part time options.
What is the cost of tuition for the program?
For the academic year 2019 – 2020, the cost is $500.00 per credit for a total of 36 credits (plus fees).
Applying for the CYBM Program:
When can I apply for the CYBM program?
Please check the CYBM website for updates. We only accept applications for fall.
Can international students apply to the program?
For the CYBM program, we are waiting for approval to issue I-20’s to admitting international students. Check our website for updates.

What information should I include in my personal statement?
You should describe your educational and professional history as well as the reasons why you would like to pursue this degree.
Is financial aid available for the CYBM program?
Yes, students enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester may qualify for financial aid. We also have scholarships available to full-time students.
