Fall 2020/Spring 2021 Program Update
Thank you for your participation in the Metro Meritus program. We appreciate your enthusiasm for learning and your contributions to the classroom learning environment. Unfortunately, the continuing COVID-19 situation means that MSU Denver is having to adjust our teaching methods and radically alter the campus environment. We are responding to city and state mandates to protect the health of all members of our community. In addition, we are responding to an anticipated university budget shortfall of more than $10 million.
The difficult situation facing the state and the university means that we must prioritize access to face-to-face classes to those students who need specific courses to complete a degree. We have also been asked to limit the number of individuals on campus, in order to allow staff to clean, thoroughly and regularly, all locations in use. In addition, faculty are being asked to increase class sizes, adjust to unfamiliar teaching formats, and provide additional support for each student.
Because of these university-level and public health concerns, we are having to limit the Metro Meritus program for the 2020-21 academic year. In the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, the Metro Meritus program will not accept students in on-campus classes. Students will be allowed to attend online courses, subject to the limitations detailed here: Limitations.
