MSU Denver has made improving undergraduate experiences in STEM learning and research a top priority. In January 2010 the campus opened a $112 million state-of-the-art science building. The new building increases and improves laboratory space which enables greater synthesis of teaching and research and more opportunities for undergraduates to engage in relevant research. MSU Denver Chemistry & Biochemistry now has 9 teaching labs and 2 research labs for chemistry.  All of the laboratories are smart classrooms equipped with computer and video projection and internet (wireless and hard-wired).  Additional computers are used to power the 20+ Vernier Logger-pro systems available used to measure pH, temperature, and turbidity among other software. MSU Denver also has computer labs with MatLab and other statistical software in the Science Building that can be reserved for use in the training courses.

There are two dedicated lecture classrooms on the Auraria campus for the use of only the MSU Denver Chemistry & Biochemistry Department and seat 50 and 80 students with movable desks. All are smart classrooms equipped with whiteboards, computer and video projection, and internet (wireless and hard-wired).
