Child Welfare Junior Level Internship
Are you an undergraduate student interested in learning more about child welfare practice and career opportunities?
Are you looking for social work experience or volunteer hours?
Consider participating in the Child Welfare Junior Level Internship (JLI) with a county department of human services!
This 11-week structured program offers students an opportunity to experience a child welfare case. Students will:
- Learn about the day-to-day functions of a case worker
- Interact with current child welfare staff
- Apply classroom learning and complete class-related activities
- Discuss pertinent social work topics, and,
- Observe live decision making
What is the JLI?
The JLI is specifically geared to junior level social work students at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) who are taking the SWK3350: Social Work Experience course and need to complete 45 hours of social work experience during the Fall semester.
Students from other universities, academic programs, and human service related disciplines are welcome to reach out and inquire about how this opportunity fits within your learning goals, as well.
