Summer Internship Guidelines

Due to COVID-19, the University recommends the following guidelines regarding internships for credit:

  • If an internship is remote, the student can move forward with receiving credit as usual through the application for credit process in Career Link.
  • If an internship is on-site, the student will move through the application for credit process and will be approved on a case-by-case basis. If the internship is to be on-site, it is the expectation that the organization/company is observing COVID-19 guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary, along with any federal, state or local restrictions.

If you have specific questions, please contact your academic department.

Student Testimonial

"The Applied Learning Center has opened numerous doors for me.  I have pursued three internships through the program. As I am approaching graduation, I feel much more equipped for whatever jobs may come my way. The Applied Learning Center helped me to navigate the ins-and-outs of internships from building my resume to applying for academic credit.  My internships improved my technical skills and my soft skills.  I gained mentors who helped me to clarify my career path.  I gained professional references.  But best of all?  I gained friendships.  My internships not only provided insight into my future career path but also to who I am as a person and employee.
