Virtual Fitness Opportunities

While campus is closed we'll be offering group fitness classes through Teams. Recorded workouts are also offered on our YouTube channel. If you need additional motivation, check out the Roadrunner Rally, our 10-week fitness challenge.

All students, staff and faculty are invited to join our 10-week healthy challenge (late comers are welcome). Participate in group fitness classes and weekly exercises to see how far you can climb our leaderboard. This program is for all fitness levels as you are scored based on time commitment rather than strength or endurance. Prizes are offered throughout and to our leaders!

Two Leaderboards:

  1. Top individuals
  2. Teams (student orgs/clubs, sports teams, Staff Senate and Faculty Senate). Don't let your team down and make sure to recruit your classmates and colleagues to help your team get to the top.

Register here!

Earn points in three ways:

1) Attending Chasity's 30-minute LIVE group fitness classes will earn you 40 points/class. Can't make the live session? Follow the YouTube version for 35 points.

Tuesdays @ 8:30am ~ Power Barre
Fridays @ 9:30am ~ Tabata

2) Stretching/Yoga. Getting your blood flowing and muscles moving is super important to ward off sore shoulders, a throbbing back and hurting hips. We recommending stretching and/or Yoga in the morning and after sitting for a long time. Earn 1 point for each FULL minute. Bonus - it can even help your posture, calm your mind, relieve stress and even decrease tension headaches. Your eyes need a break from the screen, why not stretch while doing so.

3) Each week (Monday-Sunday) will feature a new [classic] exercise. You earn 1 point for each FULL minute of completion - these do not need to be consecutive minutes, just keep track throughout the week and report it the following Monday. Visit the "Roadrunner Rally" Office 365 Team chat to see a video demoing each exercise with easier and harder variations. You should be completing the variation that matches your ability and listen to your body - do not overexert yourself. These videos will be posted Monday mornings.

About your instructor: Chasity Gentry (certified by Power Barre)

I’ve always had a love for being active. When I moved to Colorado in 2016, I was most excited for all of the hiking trails and going to the mountains. I grew up in Nebraska, then moved to South Carolina before deciding to move to Colorado.  After taking a year to work and look into what schools I wanted to attend, I found MSU Denver and applied to get my degree in Public Health. I am beyond excited to see what this school has in store for me and to help others along the way! Come meet me at the Barre!
