Banner 9 Initiative
Banner 8 Forms (Internet Native Banner - INB) Replaced
Banner 8 INB forms have been replaced with Banner 9 Admin Pages. If you have reached this page from the Banner 8 login screen, please go to the Faculty and Staff Hub webpage, click the ‘Internet Native Banner’ link (soon to be renamed ‘Banner Admin Pages’), and login using your NetID and NetID password. If you have a link on your computer desktop that goes directly to the Banner 8 login screen, it will no longer function.
MSU Denver is excited to announce that our Banner environment is upgrading from Banner 8 to Banner 9. Banner 9 will provide a modernized, mobile-responsive interface with improved navigation and accessibility features as well as a vastly improved technical infrastructure that will help streamline critical business processes.
The project officially began on May 1, 2018 with an estimated project completion of December 31, 2018. Upgrades will be made to the various Banner modules/auxiliary systems in overlapping phases. ITS will coordinate with the primary departments that use each module to ensure that all existing functionality and services are operational throughout the upgrade process. We expect close collaboration between ITS and module owners/power users to be necessary throughout this project to ensure all requirements are met, and thank the Banner user community in advance for their support and patience throughout this initiative.
All module upgrades must be completed no later than December 2018, because Ellucian (the provider of Banner) will no longer be supporting Banner 8. In order to meet the project deadline, Banner 9 module customizations will be minimized. Reducing customizations will simplify future upgrades and system management, and will also offer future platform flexibility. Furthermore, due to the staff commitment required to complete this upgrade, new Banner 8 feature requests will no longer be entertained. Any Banner 8 feature upgrades that are already in progress will be completed as planned, and Banner 8 “break/fix” support will remain available until Banner 8 is decommissioned.
