2021 Event Schedule

March 5th,  5:30-6:30 pm Community/Volunteer Event (Virtual) - Special Olympics

Description: We are all doing our part and practicing social distancing, but that doesn't mean we can't continue to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Please support the Special Olympics Colorado family from the comfort of your home! This event will focus on supporting mental health and destressing. We will connect via Zoom to decorate journals together for the special Olympians. The request is for volunteers to donate and decorate a journal ($.50 composition book) for an athlete! Please use your creativity to decorate the front cover of the journal with words of encouragement, pictures, artwork, magazine clippings, etc. Then fill the first page of the journal with a positive message for an anonymous athlete. This message can be a motivational quote, a poem or just a short note of encouragement, letting athletes know that their Colorado fans are thinking of them. Special Olympics Colorado will be distributing the decorated journals, along with journal prompts, to athletes who participate in the Strong Minds Retreat in November. The Strong Minds Retreat is a 6-week virtual opportunity for individuals with intellectual disabilities to learn tools for managing stress, reducing anxiety and improving their overall emotional wellness. Journals are due by October 23rd.

April 30th,  5:30-6:30 pm Founders Day Event (Virtual)- Where are they now?

During this time, when community is more important than ever, we are committed to keeping you connected, informed, and inspired. Get to know MHA Alumni and learn about each Alum's journey after graduation! Come join us virtually, catch up with new and old friends, and have some good laughs!

September 7th, 5:30-6:30 pm Student Event - Speed Networking

Speed networking is a structured networking method that allows participants to meet many people in a short amount of time. These short, time structured meetings will happen one-on-one for brief informational exchanges. After the event, individuals will have the choice to decide who they will follow up with. It's a good way to meet professionals, introducing yourself and explaining what you're looking for.

November 11th, 5:30-6:30pm MHAAA Member Event - TBD
