Navigate Student

Navigate Student is the official MSU Denver student-facing mobile application. The app is designed to help keep students on track with important dates, deadlines, and resources on campus - generally, to help them succeed as a Roadrunner!

Features of Navigate Student mobile include:

  • An intake survey that tailors a student's experience with the app

  • Mobile push notifications specific to a student's campus "path"

  • Online appointment scheduling with academic advisors, success coaches, and more

  • Major and career exploration tools for the student who's still deciding

  • Announcements about campus events, clubs, and ways to get involved

  • "Favorites" that allow for quick access to campus resources and contacts

Q. Who can access Navigate? 
Navigate is now available to all MSU Denver undergraduates.


Q. What if I have trouble with Navigate? 
Having problems with Navigate? Send in a ticket to the MSU Denver Helpdesk or call them at 303-352-7548.

Q. What are the installation requirements for Navigate? 
iOS Devices: Requires iOS 9.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. 
Android Devices: Requires Android 4.1 and up.


Q. What if I don't have a smart phone?

Q. What if I can’t log in to Navigate?
Your username and password are the same as what you use to login to the MSU Denver Student Hub, email, etc…  You do not need to create a new username and password for Navigate.  If your username and password is not being accepted, please contact the ITS helpdesk.   

If you successfully enter your credentials on the sign-on page, but Navigate says “Uh-oh…” or “Something went wrong,” EAB must not have your username in their system. Contact ITS to submit a ticket. 


Q. The steps I’m seeing don’t look right to me…
Go to Settings. Under your name there’s a link where you can “Update my information.” 


Q. What do I do if my app is frozen or acting weird?
Try a hard close and relaunch the app. For iOS, double click the Home button then swipe the app preview away to “hard close.” On Android, open the app manager view and slide the app preview away to “hard close.”   

Also, make sure you are keeping the app updated.  The app will freeze if not updated to the latest update.


Q. I just resolved a Hold, why is it still showing up?
Holds are updated every 24 hours in Navigate, so check back tomorrow to see if it’s successfully been resolved in Navigate. If the issue persists, submit a ticket to the ITS Helpdesk.


Q. How do I change my notification settings?
In the More tab, there’s a link called Notification Settings where you can personalize your notification preferences.


Q. Something is wrong with “My Class Schedule".
Course schedules are updated every 24 hours in Navigate, so check back tomorrow if you added or dropped a course that’s not appearing correctly. Contact ITS Helpdesk for other problems. 


Q. What if my major isn't appearing correctly? 
Be sure your major has been declared on your official record. Majors are updated every 24 hours in Navigate, so allow a day if your major was just declared.


Q. Only one of my majors is appearing, not my second major or minor...
Navigate only displays one major, so if you're double-majoring or have a minor, your second major and/or minor will not appear in Navigate but will appear on your degree progress report and your student record in the student information system at the university.


Q. How much do I have to pay for it?
Zero, nada, zilch. As an MSU Denver student it costs nothing for you to download Navigate or use the desktop version!


Q. Am I able to have an account as a faculty or staff member? 

Navigate is meant to be student facing.  Faculty and staff members are not able to set up accounts. 


Q. If I'm not able to have an account, what is the best way to learn about the features?

Browse the materials and video provided on this site or review the app in person with a student or student staff member in your office. 


Q. I'd like someone to come speak to my department about Navigate.  Who can I reach out to? 

If you are a faculty or staff member associated with an academic department, reach out to the academic advisor who works most closely with your department.  Alternately, reach out to the Director of Advising Systems, Stephanie Allen, or the Advising Coordinator for Training and Development, Brandy Swanson.
