It is intended to be an introduction to research. Anyone can apply. Freshmen and sophomore are highly encouraged to apply.
Minimal 5 hours per week.
Requires one semester commitment
You will learn how to make media, buffers, and/or purify protein for the whole department. Depending on your involvement, you might progress to small experiment. If you are interested in pursuing further, you can switch to research track
The main requirement is enthusiasm and interest
This track is for Juniors and/or Seniors
No prior research experience needed
Minimal 15 hours per week during the semester & full time (40 hours) per week during summer
Requires 15 month commitment
Requires to have taken Genetics, Cell & Molecular, and/or Biochemistry
There are 3 stages to the research
Stage 1 – Training (spring)
Stage 2 – Full time research (summer, fall)
Stage 3 – Mentor the next cohort and present research (spring)
You will be involved in meaningful research, opportunities to present and publish your research. It will prepare you for graduate/med school and job.
