AMS 4950 Professional Internship Senior Experience

A requirement of the AMS program is completing AMS 4950 Professional Internship Senior Experience. In an internship, you gain work experience under the guidance of an industry professional within the workplace. Students must complete (3) credit hours of internship, which equates to 135 work hours throughout the semester. The internship must be relevant to your selected AMS concentration. Internship students are required to prepare weekly internship reports and complete a self-evaluation survey and a reflective paper at the completion of the internship.

The Professional Internship Senior Experience gives you the invaluable opportunity to learn what it’s like to work in a multidisciplinary manufacturing environment. Additionally, you will begin to establish critical industry contacts and build your professional network.

  • 1 credit hour = 45 work hours
  • 2 credit hours = 90 work hours

Other companies post internships the semester before the internship will start. Ball Aerospace posts internships at the start of the spring semester for summer internships.
