Dr. Christopher Garris

Associate Professor, Department of Psychological Sciences

Course for OER adoption:  PSY 4330 Psychology in the Real World:  Thinking Like a Psychologist

Semester of planned adoption:  Spring 2020

Project summary:  The instructor adopted the open textbook “Research Methods in Psychology, 4th edition” (Jhangiani, Chiang, Cuttler, & Leighton, 2019) because it is comprehensive, accessible, organized and met the methodology needs of PSY 4330.  This is not the sole textbook for the course, however.  Another, for-purchase textbook is currently listed as a secondary textbook.  This textbook addresses the learning objectives of the course focused on information literacy and information processing. Over time, the plan is to phase out this textbook, replacing it with academic readings available through the Auraria Library.
