Dr. Vicki L. Golich, Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs

Vicki L. Golich became Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs at MSU Denver in September 2009. She has held faculty and administrative positions at the The Pennsylvania State University and California State University San Marcos (CSUSM), where she served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. 

Dr. Golich received her A.B. in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College in 1972, her M.A. in Political Science from CSU Fullerton in 1974, and her Ph.D. in International Relations from the School of International Relations at the University of Southern California in 1984.

Her research interests include international commercial aviation – its level of safety, the multinational production of commercial aircraft, and the diffusion of knowledge in aerospace; she has examined the enduring puzzles of achieving collaborative success related to global common goods, such as the protection of our fragile global environment.  Dr. Golich has a particular passion for teaching and was selected as one of 24 Pew Faculty Fellows in International Affairs in 1992, where she learned to use the case method of interactive teaching at the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University. In 1994, she created and directed CSUSM’s faculty development program. Dr. Golich has run case teaching workshops around the world. She has written extensively about both her disciplinary and her pedagogical interests.
