Mission: To establish and maintain strong mentoring African Americans between African American MSU faculty, staff, and students in order to positively impact retention and graduation rates for African American student attending MSU Denver. University-Sponsored with the Auraria Health Center SHADES of Genius Program. Who are the mentors? Volunteers who self-identify as an African American who are committed and dedicated to providing students mentorship, career guidance, encouragement, and support from a cultural perspective. Who are the mentees? Students who self-identify as African American who are interested in networking opportunities, meeting African American faculty and staff, and students, and accessing valuable resources on campus.
