Personal Biography Statement
Hi, I'm Brenda Wright, and I've been teaching and tutoring at Metro State for over twenty years. I'm a Denver native who went to East High and then on to the University of Colorado at Boulder. I did my graduate work in English and philosophy at CU Denver. I've been at the Auraria campus for many years because I LOVE TEACHING not simply because I have to work. I love talking about ideas and language. Most of all, I love empowering students to speak, write, and think on a level they never thought possible. Students who want to become more articulate and who want to express themselves better enjoy working with me. I love to laugh. It's a must to have a sense of humor on this academic journey. I look forward to working with you soon!
Member of the Bronte Society.
Attended 3-day Bronte Conference (August, 2009) at the University of York, (York, England) on "Men in the Lives of the Brontes."
Graduate thesis explored Objectivist philosophy in the poetry of Emily Bronte and Emily Dickinson. I love 19th century poetry. I would love to work with anyone who is composing/revising poetry as well as any other form of academic writing.
I have taught English 1010 and 1020 for many years. I have also taught
