Personal Biography Statement
Graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Master's degree in Social Work. Worked as a group worker and
community organizer at the Norfolk State Mental Hospital.
Worked at the Community Mental Health Center in Lincoln Nebraska, providing direct client service and served as the Coordinator of Consultation & Education Services. The major consultation client was the police department focusing on officer recruitment and training, working with domestic abuse, mental health, and negotiation situations.
Worked as the Clinical Director of Family Therapy for NDSS supervising 12 family therapists. NDSS partnered with Philadelphia Child Guidance Center to research the effectiveness of family therapy with NDSS families. Conducted consultation and training workshops locally in Nebraska and throughout the nation.
Opened a private practice. Worked individually and as co-therapist with individuals, couples, and families. Conducted training workshops with Couples Communication Program nationally and produced a television series on this topic with Nebraska Educational Television.
Moved to Colorado to be closer to grandchildren. Continue to maintain a strong commitment to social work values and practices.
