Personal Biography Statement
David Klein received his Master of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1995, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Product Design from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1988. He designed children's riding toys and adult fitness equipment at Roadmaster Corporation, decorative designs at David Marshall Inc., and consumer electronics for Samsung Corporation in Seoul, Korea. He completed a Fulbright-Hayes Seminar in the Czech and Slovak Republics, was a visiting scholar at the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, and has presented at IDSA and NCIIA national conferences. He donates time at the Kirkland Museum in Denver, completed a Japan Studies Institute fellowship at San Diego State University, and recently completed a 'design tour' of the best schools in Denmark. His interests include international culture and design, art and photography, pop music, tennis, squash, bicycling, rollerskating.
