Personal Biography Statement

Cynthia Baron, M.S.W. presently serves as the Associate Director for Learning Communities and First Year Success at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has provided leadership to the program since its pilot inception in the fall of 2007. Her primary role is to provide oversight, development, execution, and expansion of first year co-curricular programs, first year student outreach initiatives, and a student ambassador program. Her passions include student leadership development, multicultural education, and diversity programs. She also serves as the advisor to the HSF Hispanic Scholar Chapter, Pi Lambda Chi Latina sorority Inc., and La Mission.

Ms. Baron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services with an emphasis in High Risk Youth from MSU Denver and a Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Direct Practice from the University of Denver. She has also been recognized for her advocacy for first year students and contributions to the Latino community.
