Immigrant Services Statement of Support

For many of you, these post-election days have been troubling and frightening – as an immigrant, you may feel attacked and/or disrespected. But despite what you have read or heard, despite what some people say, many in the U.S. and at MSU Denver strongly believe that you, like all immigrants before you, are the future of this country.

MSU Denver has supported undocumented, DACA, and immigrant students in the past, and it will continue to do so in the future. Through financial support, academic support, and student services, we want you to succeed during and after college. In-state tuition and financial support available to you are not determined by the federal government, but by the state and MSU Denver itself, and academic support will always be available to you. You have our full support now and in the future, and we feel honored that you are part our campus, state, and country.

All of us working at the Immigrant Services Program deeply care about each and every one of you, and we want you to know that we are here to support you in any way possible. We know that at times like these, dropping out of school comes to mind, but we want you to remember that education is not only about having a career or a job, but also about having the necessary tools to overcome adversity. Your communities and your families need you more than ever. Keep educating yourselves, keep coming to school, and keep your head high. Your lives matter! We want you to know that we are here for you, we care about you and we stand by you.
