MSU Denver is Rising
As one of the nation’s preeminent public urban institutions, the time has come for Metropolitan State University of Denver to have its own, unique identity on the Auraria Campus—the MSU Denver Neighborhood.
The MSU Denver Neighborhood
The MSU Denver Neighborhood is giving the University the visibility it deserves—and it will enhance the value of a bachelor’s or master’s degree from MSU Denver.
- MSU Denver will gain greater visibility along the southern edge of the Auraria Campus and help improve the area for the surrounding community when it builds a new athletic complex south of Colfax Avenue and west of Rio Court.
- Aerospace, Engineering and Science Building: This third MSU Denver neighborhood building will bring aviation and aerospace science, physics, industrial design, and civil, mechanical and electrical engineering technology (and perhaps computer science) together in a truly integrated space to foster curricular synergies, spark industry partnerships and position the University as a center for educating professionals for the critical aviation/aerospace and advanced-manufacturing industry clusters.
Student Success Building: The Student Success Building, the first of two new MSU Denver Neighborhood buildings, opened in March 2012. The $62 million building, funded entirely by student-approved fees, houses student services, classrooms and administrative offices, all in one convenient location.
The Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center, one of only 11 teaching hotels on a university campus in the country, opened fall 2012.
The Center for Visual Art moved to its new home in the Santa Fe Art District in June 2010.
