Students are now able to use the same password they use to access their email, log into the student lab computers and access ConnectU also known as their WinAD account, to log directly into their Google accounts. This will eliminate the necessity to log into ConnectU to access your email, Google docs & drive or other features of your Google Apps account.
Simply reset your WinAD account password the next time you are on campus in any of the student computer labs, or if you have enrolled in Metro’s Self Service Password Reset Program, visit https://studentreset.msudenver.edu and reset your password. This will automatically synchronize your new password with your Google account, allowing you to access the Gmail login.
This new feature allows you to use your mobile devices with Gmail as well, just follow Gmail’s instructions for adding your email account, located in the settings window when logged into Gmail and be sure to use your firstname.lastname@example.org and your new password.

It is very important to know, that if you reset you Gmail password, it will not sync with your WinAD password. The sync is only one way, so sync your WinAD password first and use that with your Google Account.
In order to sync your password with Google Apps you will need to reset your WinAD password. The process is very simple, and once done will allow you to begin using all the features of Google Apps with your WinAD username and password.
1) Visit any one of the Student Computer Labs on campus and login to any student lab computer, you will be prompted to change your password on first login.

After your password has been changed, it will be synced with Google and you can begin logging into your Google Apps account.
2) If you have enrolled in the Self Service Password Reset program at Metro State, then you can visit https://studentreset.msudenver.edu and reset your password through the normal process, then you can begin using your new password with your Google Apps account, by logging into Gmail login.
3) You can also have your password reset by visiting the IT Service Center Windows in West Classroom 241 or Admin Building 4th floor. You can also call the service center at (303) 352-7548 and you can always visit Metro State’s Technology website, http://www.msudenver.edu/technology/
Once your password is rest, you can login to the Metro State Google Apps homepage, Gmail Login, or ConnectU, https://connectu.msudenver.edu . The choice is yours. From either site you can access your Google Mail, applications and other services with your Metro State WinAD Account.
You can also begin using your mobile device with Google email; just follow the instructions for adding your Google Apps account to your mobile device, located in the settings menu of your Gmail account.
