This is a mandatory training for all new administrative and classified employees of MSU Denver.
(Faculty orientation is provided through the Center for Faculty Development – see below)
We have created guidelines to help all new employees with the hiring process. New Hire On-Boarding Guide (PDF 250 KB) contains tasks that employees must complete as part of the Orientation Program. Required and Recommended Training for New Hires (20 KB) contains trainings that each employee must take.

Recommended for all employees who will be entering or updating position description information in the PeopleAdmin system or will be creating postings for positions.
Job Aid for PeopleAdmin Upgrade to 7.0 (1,344 KB)
We have created this Job Aid to assist you with the transition to the new PeopleAdmin 7.0 system. It provides you with some additional detail about the system and will provide more of a step-by-step reference through the most common actions in PeopleAdmin. - Professional Development (Individual funds to be utilized outside of MSU Denver, such as conferences, seminars, trainings, and courses. It requires approval from the supervisor.)

Orientation for new tenure, tenure track and Category II faculty.
Full-Time Faculty - both Category I (tenure-track) and Category II orientation is provided by the Center for Faculty Development. This orientation is presented in the Fall at the beginning of the Academic Year the week before classes start (usually on Tuesday). Registration information is available through the Event Calendar on the Center for Faculty Development website (http://www.msudenver.edu/cfd/eventscalendar/).
This is a full-day mandatory orientation for all new full-time faculty employees of MSU Denver.
Provided by the Center for Faculty Development, these orientations are presented at the beginning of both the Fall and Spring semesters. Two 4-hour sessions are offered in Fall; one is on Saturday (9 days prior to the start of the semester) and one is on Monday (7 days prior to the start of the semester). One session is offered in Spring, usually on a Monday before the start of the semester. All sessions run from 9am-1pm

These orientations are optional for all new affiliate faculty employees of MSU Denver and has limited spaces available.
Information Technology Training
Includes Banner and Site Manager Training for the New Employees.
For New Employees, Student Employees, Faculty, and Staff members that require access to Banner. This course is a requirement for having an account in the Banner system.
For Student Employees, Faculty, and Staff members that will be managing or updating the University website. This course is a requirement for having access to the Site Manager web content management system.

Accounting Service Training
Accounting Services is comprised of the University’s Financial Services, Business Services, Grants & Loans, Payroll, and Accounts Payable offices.
These trainings are highly recommended if you will be responsible for financial information and/or financial reporting within your department.
Both sessions are offered monthly - Register through the MSU Denver Events Calendar (http://www.msudenver.edu/controller/resources/training/bannerfinance/) by selecting “Accounting Services Training” from the Training drop down list on the left side of the Events Calendar.
Search and Screening Trainings
Required every year for those asked to chair or participate in a search and screening committee.
The Equal Opportunity Office requests that all employees serving on a search committee for an Administrative or Faculty position attend a training on the MSU Denver Equal Opportunity Office Search and Screening procedures. This training is required for all Search Committee members and Hiring Authorities and must be completed on an annual basis.
To schedule, please contact the Equal Opportunity Office at 303-556-4746. They will provide you with upcoming dates and times and will register you for the training.
All trainings take place in the Student Success Building, Room 440, small conference room. Please plan on 45 – 60 minutes.
