Remedial Courses and Financial Aid

As of July 1, 2012 Financial Aid no longer covers 030 remedial courses. This means that if you tests into a 030 level course in Math, Reading, and/or English you will be required to pay for the course out-of-pocket.

The out-of-pocket cost for fulfilling this requirement will be up to $615 per 030 level course. If you hope to avoid this out-of-pocket expense, the following is suggested:

  • Get tutoring
  • Retest on the Accuplacer
  • Place at 045 level or above

Here's how:

Free tutoring is offered by The Student Academic Success Tutoring Program in SSB 230.

  • Accuplacer Math Tutoring: Monday -- Friday from 8AM to 5PM
  • Accuplacer Reading and English Monday -- Friday from 10AM to 3PM
  • Tutoring can be reached at (303) 556-4048

Retest on the Accuplacer and place into a higher level class. 045 level classes and above are still eligible for financial aid. This can be done by going to the Assessment and Testing Center Tivoli 347 (303) 556-3677.
