Stress

What you need to know about stress

Q. What is stress and how can I cope with stress?
A . Stress is tension. So, here are some suggestions on how fellow MSCD students, staff, and faculty suggest maintaining a healthy balance for the mind, body, and spirit:

BREATHE (DEEPLY)
  • VENT/TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT YOUR CONCERNS

  • PRIORITIZE AND ORGANIZE YOUR LIFE

  • EXERCISE

  • EAT NUTRITIOUSLY

  • TAKE TIME FOR YOUR SELF: MEDITATE, LISTEN TO MUSIC,TAKE A BATH, TAKE A WALK, GET OUT OF YOUR DAILY PATTERN, GET OUT OF THE CITY, OR GO TO THE 16TH STREET MALL.

DO SOMETHING YOU LIKE TO DO!
  • NOW YOUR LIMITS

  • THINK POSITIVELY

  • SMILE

There are also ineffective ways of dealing with stress. Drugs and alcohol are not positive, nor healthy ways of dealing with stress.
