Center of Urban Connections volunteer opportunities

The Center for Urban Connections is seeking tutoring volunteers for Colorado Youth for a Change, which works to reduce the number of students who drop out of school.

Colorado Youth for a Change volunteers tutor youth ages 13-18 in core subjects such as science and math. All long-term volunteers must be at least 18 years old and are required to fill out an application that includes an interview and background check.

Volunteers commit to tutoring one hour per day, per week until the end of the school year. Volunteer tutoring opportunities are available at the following sites:

Abraham Lincoln High School, 2285 S. Federal Blvd., Denver

Focus: Academic support, classroom support in algebra and geometry

North High School, 2960 Speer Blvd., Denver

Focus: Math Center support, academic support for credit recovery

West High School, 951 Elati St., Denver

Focus: Academic support for credit recovery in core subjects

Centaurus High School, 10300 South Boulder Rd., Lafayette

Focus: Chemistry, Algebra

Fairview High School, 1515 Greenbriar Blvd., Boulder

Focus: Algebra

Aurora Central High School
