Faculty and staff, please get the word out to your students that if they use public transportation they will need to get the new RTD College Pass smart card for the 2013 spring semester.
The way students now use their University-issued photo ID as a Regional Transportation District pass for the bus and light rail is changing this month. Instead of a sticker on their school photo ID, registered students will need to get the new RTD smart card.
A smart card special distribution is happening through Jan. 22, but students who are unable to pick up the new card by that date should bring their spring schedule and MSU Denver photo ID to the ID office in the Tivoli Student Union as soon as possible to avoid being charged to ride the bus or light rail.
Following is the remaining days and time for the special distribution:
Tuesday, Jan. 15, through Saturday, Jan. 19 and Jan. 22
- Tuesday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
New pick-up location
The location for card pick-up by MSU Denver students has changed to the Roger Braun Lounge in the Tivioli Student Union, rather than the Multicultural Lounge.
Students must bring a copy of their spring 2013 class schedule and their current University-issued student photo ID.
RTD is promoting this new student card as an easier way to use their transportation services. The actual services will not change. For more information visit the RTD website.
