MSU Denver’s direct impact in the Denver and Colorado community continues to be demonstrated through stories in local and national news media. Key coverage includes the stories on our Colorado High School/GED Non-resident Tuition Rate, the official July 1 name change and the Space Commercialization program. Also, our professors have offered their expertise to the news media on a variety of topics, including the Aurora shooting tragedy, airport security, federal banking policy and social issues. PRESIDENT STEPHEN M. JORDAN
The Denver Post on September 7 interviewed President Stephen Jordan and other Colorado university presidents for a cover story about the challenges and opportunities facing Colorado higher education.
On August 21, President Stephen Jordan was interviewed by The Chronicle of Higher Education about the loss of state funding for Colorado public colleges and what it means for the future of education.
On August 19, President Stephen Jordan was a guest on CNN to discuss MSU Denver’s new Colorado High School/GED Non-resident Tuition Rate. He was interviewed again on CNN on August 22.
The Denver Post on July 19 published President Stephen Jordan’s guest commentary about how college athletic programs should reflect the overall mission of the institution in light of the Penn State scandal. On July 12, The Denver Post interviewed President Stephen Jordan and a CU official about measures they’ve taken to prevent a similar scandal like the one at Penn State. This story was featured again in The Denver Post, Viva Colorado, and the Daily Camera on July 13.
On June 28, President Stephen Jordan was quoted in the Denver Business Journal about the name-change transition. He was also interviewed by YourHub Denver for a September 6 story about costs associated with name change. This story also appeared in The Denver Post on September 10.
