MSU Denverís menís and womenís basketball teams wrap up their regular seasons this week and then head into the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference quarterfinals at home on Tuesday, March 5.
The teams will face Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday and University of Colorado, Colorado Springs on Saturday. The women tip off at 5 p.m. and the men at 7 p.m. both evenings at the Auraria Event Center.
The No. 1 menís team recorded its first loss of the season Friday, falling to No. 17 Fort Lewis 61-54 in Durango. But the team recovered the following evening, earning a 69-56 victory at Adams State in Alamosa.
The Roadrunners improved to 23-1 overall and 19-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The win at Adams State clinched sole possession of the regular season RMAC championship for the Roadrunners, their first since 2009 and seventh all-time, the most of any RMAC school.
The women lost to both Fort Lewis and Adams State. The women are 17-8 overall and 15-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Both RMAC quarterfinal games will be played at the Auraria Event Center, though opponents have not been announced. The womenís game is at 5 p.m. March 5 and the menís team will play at 7 p.m.
