Title III Grant
Achieving Student Success: Focused Advising and Academic Restructuring
On October 1, 2010, MSU Denver received a five-year, $1.88 million federal grant to improve academic success and institutional management through focused advising and academic restructuring. The principal investigators are Dr. Sheila Thompson, AVP of Curriculum & Academic Effectiveness, and Dr. Sandra Haynes, Dean of the School of Professional Studies.
The grant has two major priority areas: to make improvements in academic advising through campus-wide technological and faculty development activities, and to institutionalize teacher education advising processes and structural improvements through the creation of a School of Education.
The grant is currently entering the third year and activities are moving along quickly with the implementation of the Banner Relationship Management (BRM) system, designed to monitor student progress and communication to individual students and student groups.
