Title III Performance Report

 

In 2010, MSU Denver received a five-year, $1.88 million federal grant to improve academic success and institutional management through focused advising and academic restructuring.  The principal investigator was Dr. Sandra Haynes, Dean of the School of Professional Studies.

The grant had two major priority areas: to make improvements in academic advising through campus-wide technological and faculty development activities, and to institutionalize teacher education advising processes and structural improvements through the creation of a School of Education.


Goals and Objectives

The University endeavors to provide students with an education that enhances the quality of their lives and prepares them to be well-educated, critically thinking citizens in a multicultural, global and technological society.  In keeping with this mission, the grant goals and objectives include specific targets for improvement of retention, graduation and enrollment management, and teacher licensure preparation, as well as technological and faculty development improvements in academic advising.  The objectives are in alignment with federal Title III performance measures and requirements.

 

Goal I.A. Improve the Systematic and Systemic Structures and Procedures for Academic Advising

  • Objective I.A.1. Increase Technology Capability Across All Advising Functions
  • Objective I.A.2. Increase the Coordination of Information Between Central and Department Advising
  • Objective I.A.3. Increase the Availability of Accurate Advising Information to Students, Faculty and Staff

Goal I.B. Improve Undergraduate Student Enrollment

  • Objective I.B.1. Improve Targeted Student Communication & Relationship Management
  • Objective I.B.2. Increase Full-Time Undergraduate Student Enrollment

Goal I.C. Improve Undergraduate Student Retention

  • Objective I.C.1. Decrease the Percentage of First-Time, Full-Time Students on Academic Probation
  • Objective I.C.2. Increase First-Time, Full-Time Student One-Year Retention Rate

Goal I.D. Increase the Six-Year Graduation Rate
